Definitions
- “ITC” means Ipswich Turf Club.
- “Client” means the Individual or Company named on the Booking Form as booking the facility
- “Tickets” means any form of admission pass issued by ITC for a specified event and includes online tickets and wristbands.
- “Standard Race Day” means any race day which is not part of the major event calendar of the ITC
- “Major Race Day” means any race day including, but not limited to, Labour Day Races, Family Day, and the Ipswich Cup.
- “Phantom Race Day” means any race day run without horses. Events and functions will continue as planned on these days.
- “Abandoned Race Day” means any race cancelled by the ITC, Racing Queensland or QRIC.
Entry
By purchasing a ticket to, or using gifted or complimentary tickets to attend a race meeting or any other event at the ITC, including the Ipswich Events & Entertainment Centre, you are deemed to have accepted the below terms and conditions of entry.
Patrons enter the venue at their own risk. The ITC accepts no responsibility for injury to any person (including injury resulting in death), or damage to loss of property of any patron occurring on or about the venue.
The ITC reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove from the venue any patron who, in the opinion of any ITC representative:
- Is behaving, or is in a group of persons behaving, in a manner which is causing or is likely to cause disruption, nuisance or offence to other patrons, harm to persons or horses, or damage to property.
- Is dressed inappropriately.
- Appears to be intoxicated
- Appears to be under the influence or possessing drugs. Any matters involving drugs will be referred to the police.
- Fails to comply with any of these conditions to entry of the venue.
- Patrons may not bring animals onto the racecourse (other than a companion animal with the appropriate handler identity card).
- Patrons are not permitted to trespass onto the venue at any time and will be prosecuted if they do so.
- Patrons may be requested to provide proof of identity and/or age at any time. Failure to comply may result in refusal of entry or eviction from venue.
- Patrons must not attempt to sell or distribute any goods or advertising, promotional or political materials or similar to persons attending the venue without the written consent of the ITC.
- Patrons must not conduct any advertising, promotional or political campaign or activity or commercial marketing (including with others) anywhere at the venue, without the written consent of the ITC.
- The ITC retains the right to refuse entry to any person, or to withdraw any person’s permission to remain on the premises at any time.
Covid Vaccination Guidelines
From 1am on Thursday, April 14 2022, patrons of the Ipswich Turf Club no longer require to be fully vaccinated to be onsite. The Club will continue to follow Queensland Government guidelines regarding Covid-19 protocols as required.
Liquor Licensing
- Alcohol must not be removed from the venue.
- It is an offence to sell, supply or obtain liquor on behalf of persons under the age of 18.
- The ITC follows the Office of Liquor & Gaming licensing requirements and follow a house policy.
Photography, Filming & Recording
ITC and other authorised parties may carry out photography and/or video recordings at the racecourse throughout the day which may feature patrons. By accepting these regulations, and entering the venue, patrons agree ITC or any authorised party may use such images in perpetuity in any promotional, advertising or publicity material in any format whatsoever. Patrons further agree that copyright in these materials rests with ITC or such authorised party (as the case may be).
Patrons not wishing any images of themselves be used in any promotional, advertising or publicity must contact ITC.
Patrons must not, unless authorised by the ITC and in possession of an ITC approved or Racing Queensland issued Media Pass and, if authorised, only on conditions determined by the ITC, take any photographs or make any films, video, digital or sound recordings (including by way of any handheld communications or device) within the racecourse for commercial purposes.
Breach of Conditions of Entry
If a patron breaches any of the above conditions, or the ITC (with reasonable cause) so directs, it may result in, without limitation:
- Refusal of entry into the venue.
- Eviction from the venue.
- Requirement to surrender articles in your possession.
- Have your ticket confiscated or cancelled.
- Reporting to an appropriate law enforcement body.
No refund or compensation of any kind will be provided for patrons who are refused entry or evicted from the venue by breaching these terms and conditions of entry.
Tickets & Ticketing Conditions
- Tickets will not be issued until full payment has been received and confirmed by the ITC.
- If a client has not received their ticketing within three (3) days of the event they must advise ITC in writing.
- Tickets are not transferable, redeemable or exchangeable for cash.
- Tickets are not refundable.
- The ITC booking systems collect information about Clients when Clients purchase Tickets using ITC booking systems.
- Clients are responsible for distributing tickets to guests attending their function prior to the function date.
- All Clients must display relevant tickets at all times and whilst in their designated facility.
- ITC reserves the right to refuse admittance or service to any persons not displaying the correct ticketing.
- Additional services such as postage and handling fees will not be covered by the ITC.
On-Selling & Scalping
- Tickets are not to be resold or sold at a premium (including via online auction sites), or used for commercial, advertising or promotional purposes in connection with other goods or services without the written approval of ITC. Breach of this condition may result in cancellation of the ticket, refusal of entry to the ticket holder and offenders may be prosecuted. The validity of any ticket offered for resale by individuals or on third-party websites such as, but not limited to, Viagogo, Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace or Stubhub cannot be guaranteed.
- In the event of the ITC approving the purchase of a corporate facility by a company for the purpose of on-selling, ITC will require the on-seller to forward all advertising materials for approval by ITC prior to print and distribution inclusive of pricing.
- Approved on-sellers must provide a complete list of all organisations/individuals attending their function.
- Approved on-sellers must follow all Terms and Conditions.
- The ITC is not responsible for on-sold tickets.
Cancellation or Postponement
- COVID-19: If the event is cancelled due to a legally enforceable COVID-19 lockdown, the following credits and refunds may be offered per the ACCC guidance on Covid-19 for consumers.
- Before purchasing tickets carefully review your event and ticket selection, no refunds or exchanges will be available on any purchase except as required by and/or specified by the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice Consumer Code (where your event is located in Australia) or as otherwise required by law. Incorrect purchases are NOT guaranteed a refund and are at the discretion of ITC.
- Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, modify or limit the operation of the Australian Consumer Law or Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 (New Zealand) with respect to refunds.
- Notice of cancellation or postponement for Standard Race Days must be communicated in writing to ITC and the cancellation fee will be subject to the notice period prior to event date as follows:
- If cancellation is received ten (10) days or more from event date, client may receive the option (at ITC’s discretion) to transfer booking to another date, with payments received transferred across to secure new date, resulting in no penalty to the Client.
- If cancellation is received within less than ten (10) days of event date, excluding Ipswich Cup, ITC will retain the payments received to cover any incurred costs related to the event.
- Notice of cancellation or postponement for Major Race Days must be communicated in writing to ITC and the cancellation fee will be subject to the notice period prior to event date as follows:
- If cancellation is received four (4) weeks or more from event date, client may receive the option (at ITC’s discretion) to transfer booking to another date, with payments received transferred across to secure new date, resulting in no penalty to the Client.
- If cancellation is received within less than four (4) weeks of private event date, ITC will retain the payments received to cover any incurred costs related to the event
- All payments received by Clients for bookings are non-refundable. Refunds will not be offered at any stage for cancellations.
Minors
- Persons under the age of 18 years of age are not permitted entry to the racecourse unless accompanied by their Legal Guardian.
- Persons under the age of 18 years of age are strictly not allowed to attend and/or participate in any function indicated as 18+ in the package description including the IPSWICH CUP. The ITC may be asked to provide a proof of ID (passport, driver’s license) upon arrival to the licensed area to verify their age.
Force Majeure
- If any part of any event day, including any race, performance, event or any other element is cancelled, abandoned or postponed, in whole or in part, due to adverse weather conditions or for any other cause beyond ITC’s control, there is no right to refund or exchange and no obligation is assumed by ITC for the arrangement of a substitute event, performance or any other element.
- Programs, menus, duration and timing may be subject to alteration without notice. ITC reserves the right to vary, add, withdraw or alter programs, menus and facilities without notice.
