Ipswich postponed now racing Tuesday 30 March

Racing Queensland confirms that the Ipswich TC race meeting which was originally programmed on Wednesday March 24, but was subsequently rescheduled to Friday March 26, has been postponed and will now take place on Tuesday March 30.
The further postponement has been necessary to allow sections of the racing surface (predominately the starting chutes) further time to recover from the heavy rainfall which fell on the track earlier in the week. RQ and ITC had envisaged that the surface would recover in time for Friday’s meeting to proceed and indeed the majority of the course proper did, however in the interests of rider and equine safety the latest postponement was deemed the most prudent course of action. The amending of a number of race distances at the meeting was also closely considered, however these would have been too significant for the race meeting to remain viable.
Commensurate with the race meeting’s rescheduling, the previously assembled race fields (acceptances) will be retained and any scratchings transacted thus far reinstated.
